My son has just finished the second grade, but we received the list of materials needed for the third grade over a month ago. When I asked the room parent why so early, she told me it was because the stationery store near the school was shutting down. Besides making huge donations to the school, they also had a clearance sale if we wanted to save on supplies while helping them out at this difficult time.
This made me very sad. In the past, Iâve been guilty of shopping online a lot too for the convenience. But now Iâve stopped. Whatever I can buy local, even if I have to haul my introvert, lazy self out of the house, I buy in the small stores in my neighborhood.
